Competition designed for ages 50 and above to stay active and healthy
The Alabama Department of Senior Services, AARP and the ASF Foundation in support the further development of the Senior State Games efforts in Alabama.
The SENIOR STATE GAMES are not competing with or replacing other Senior Games programs in Alabama, but highly encouraging all seniors ages 50 and over to participate in competitions available to them. The key word is participation for a healthier lifestyle.
Since the ASF Foundation was organized at the request of the United States Olympic Committee in 1982, senior events have always been a part of our Alabama State Games program. We have adopted a new format of showcasing seniors by recognizing them with their very own Opening Ceremonies Parade Athletes Division which will be televised statewide. This is an opportunity for Alabama seniors to be recognized as the competitors they are. We encourage every competitive senior to register today.
